Gin Verso - the future
shape of Paragliding harnesses?
Towards the end of last season we
were unable to obtain enough Gin Verso Harnesses to fulfill all our orders.
According to the guys at UK Airsports, the UK importer they were selling like
hotcakes and they had underestimated the demand - new supplies were fast in
coming but sales volumes remained high. Why was this happening in a market that
seems full of reversible harnesses. Close examination of the Verso tells the
story.

First impression is of a very neat
package that is well made, sleek, sexy, high quality as you would expect from a
Gin product and tough enough for the job. Fine details The
closer you look the more you begin to see why this harness sells. The fine
details in design are well thought out, quality zips that swallow the sliders
into custom covers. Shoulder straps that look and more importantly feel like a
proper rucksac strap should be. Strong and supportive but with breathable
fabric next to the skin to wick away sweat.
In the air In
use the Verso feels like a full weight "normal" harness, there is none of the
slightly unstable feel that you often get with some lightweight harnesses.
Weightshift turns feel like they should with precise control and a nice solid
feel. Do we like it - yes we do honestly the best reversible we have seen by
far. Is it worth its fairly high 599.00 price tag? Unquestionably yes, head and
shoulders above the pack.
Need some new
kit? Adventure Extreme sell a wide range of equipment
from all the major manufacturers. Gin, Airwave, Nova, Pro-design, Ozone,
Independence, etc. Outdoor clothing and sleeping bags from Mountain Equipment,
Terra Nova, Vango and radios from Yaesu - lightweight paragliders and
harnesses, ****************

A Yurt in
Provence
New for 2011 - Adventure Extreme offer
clients the opportunity of renting their large Kyrgyz Yurt by the week. Yurts
have been a popular, almost cult form of holiday for many years now throughout
Europe. Originally a shelter for the nomadic tribes of central Asia, Yurts have
spread in popularity and are now seen in Wales, Yorkshire, Devon, as well as
the steppes of Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan.

Our Yurt, the first of several we intend
to establish, can easily sleep a family of 4, even 5 at a push. The Yurt is
comfortable, dry and spacious, has proper beds, chairs and table etc and comes
fully equipped for light cooking.

Let your family enjoy a holiday with a
difference whilst you work on your Paragliding. Mountain biking, walking, via
feratta, gliding and pony trekking are some of the non flying activities the
area has on offer. A great family destination and a holiday with a
difference.

Early season flying means frozen
fingers - not always. Until recently
heated clothing has been something of a bad joke. Not any more - last year
under test we have found that the Blazewear heated gloves really do what it
says on the box - keep your hands warm in freezing conditions. The gloves,
which come complete with a battery box, best filled with NmH rechargeable AA
size cells can keep the wearers hands warm for up to 5 hours - just the ticket
for those early season flights when it is numb hands that put you on the ground
rather than lack of lift. An optional lithium battery pack and charger is also
available. Priced competitively at £39.99 for the gloves and battery case
which slips into a small pocket on the glove cuff. Lithium pack and charger at
£29.00 would be a good add-on for long term use. In stock
